These bliss balls are a superfood dream. Completely natural and rich in protein, essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and live enzymes they are the ideal afternoon pick me up. Even better, I have intentionally made mine nut free so your kids can snack on them at school or kindergarten too for a sweet, healthy taste sensation. Like any good snack should be, they are so quick to make – just whiz them up in the blender, roll in desiccated coconut and store in the fridge for a healthy, nutritious snack on the run.

100 grams linseeds

100 grams sunflower seeds

50 grams pumpkin seeds

30 grams chia seeds

30 grams goji berries

16 pitted dates

1 tlbsp protein powder (I use pea protein powder)

2 tlbsp cocoa powder or raw cacao

3 tlbsp organic honey (you could substitute agave or rice malt syrup)

1 tlbsp natural vanilla extra

½ tsp ground cinnamon

1 – 1 ¼ cup water

Desiccated coconut for rolling

Throw seed mix into the food processor with cinnamon, protein powder and cacao until the mix looks crumbly

Add dates, honey, cinnamon and vanilla extract then process again until the mix comes together.

Add 1 cup of water as you go to ensure the mixture is soft and forms a soft ball. You may need a little more or less, depending upon consistency.

Form approx. 20 decent sized balls. Roll in coconut or raw cacao and store in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.

You can substitute the seeds for 330 grams of mixed nuts (almonds/walnauts/macadamias)
